I am now in my third full day in Frankfurt where I am visiting my dear friend, Jesse, and his boyfriend, Tim. The weather has been sunny and crisp. And Frankfurt has turned out to be much more quaint, and compact, than I anticipated.

Saturday, Jesse and I walked through the shopping district around Alte Oper, through the soon-to-be-open Christmas stalls, and down to the waterfront. I had apfelwein (didn’t like it) and schweinshaxe, a local pork specialty with amazing fried potatoes that I liked way too much, at a cute little beer hall.

Tomorrow, I will blog about our wine country trip yesterday.
